Relationship Between Dark Triad, Coping Styles, Sensation Seeking And Substance Use Among Youth

Aims: This study aimed to analyze the frequency of substance use in young people and determine what extent consumption is defined by Dark triad Personality, sensation seeking stress coping styles. Methods: The was conducted on 367 participants aged 18 30 years. questionnaire composed sociodemographic questionnaire, Short Triad (SD-3), Coping Orientation Problems Experienced Inventory (COPE), Sensation Seeking Scale (SSS-V). Results: Our results showed that most frequently marijuana, followed psychostimulants (cocaine, speed, crystal methamphetamine), with hallucinogenic properties (MDMA) finally drugs (LSD, PCP). Reported alcohol moderate frequent. Hierarchical regression analysis statistically significant predictors psychoactive explaining 45.1% total variance were age, gender, psychopathy, Machiavellianism, boredom susceptibility, disinhibition experience seeking. Statistically 19.6% avoidant coping, Conclusion: These findings are useful both theoretical practical domains psychology detecting groups at risk for later development use.
